35th Anniversary of the Creation of
THERE IS NO WAY TO WHERE WE ARE- A work by Edward Boilini (1989) - 6 minute 40 seconds

THERE IS NO WAY TO WHERE WE ARE is a blend of film, video, and computer animation. Through an impressionistic mix of images, the history of human communications is traced from symbols to digital communications. Parallel images of the evolution of technology, including those of war, are interwoven with the human form.

The evolution of human communications, to a degree, dictates his- tory. Advances in communication and technology have the potential to improve human life and to draw the human race closer together. But whether that happens or not, remains an unknown. What happens after the wall comes down?

Berlin Wall fell in 1989 and was an inspiration for the work. The original video was completed over a course of months in 1989 and 1990. In 2020 and 2021, the content was altered and optimized for streaming on the World Wide Web.

Note: The work presented here has been heavily compressed to less than 100 MBs from the original 1.5GB file. This video was structured for theatrical projection and can be streamed to about any hand held device on planet earth.

This work was largely created with an Amiga Computer.
