Learn More About DCP Creation:
A Digital Cinema Package (DCP) is a collection of digital files used to store and convey digital cinema (DC) audio, image, and data streams. The term has been defined by Digital Cinema Initiatives, LLC in their recommendations for packaging of DC contents.
Because 35mm is (sadly) dead! Due to the emergence of Digital Cinema, 35mm film has nearly vanished in the last few years. Many theaters do not have any 35mm equipment at all! Virtually all new theaters being built are digital only, which means if you want to show your film you'll need a DCP.

But this is our recommendation, film file format should be as a Quicktime (QT) ProRes 422 or 444 file with a 23.97, 24, or 25 fps frame rate and a 2K (2048 x 858 Cinemascope or 1998 x 1080 Flat) or HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. Audio can be embedded in the Quicktime or sent as separate 2 channel (L, R) or 6 channel (in the following order: L, R, C, Lfe, Ls, Rs ) .wav files. Please note: For HD, a slight cropping will occur on the top and bottom of the frame when blown up to 2k 1:85.
The film should be delivered as digital file (via google drive, dropbox or other service file transfer) OR on an NTFS drive in a USB configuration, but we can work with an EXT if an NTFS drive is not available.
