Walk on the Wild Side

Synopsis:

Going through treatment and surgery for stage 4 ovarian cancer, Germaine remembered that she had once met the great Pioneer of Immunotherapy, bone marrow transplant and chemotherapy, Georges Mathé. She decided when she was cured that she would make a film to pay tribute to Mathé and the three Pioneers who worked with him in the USA: Emil Frei, James Holland and Emil J. Freireich - also others who have followed in their footsteps. The film relates their astonishing testimonies and eureka moments, which have led to life saving treatments, target therapies, better screenings and tests to diagnose people before it’s too late. Interwoven is Germaine’s personal story that will inspire others to follow the protocols and be proactive. This upbeat, inspirational film will help everyone understand and cope with cancer.
