SHADOW MEN

Synopsis:

This documentary provides a different view of exile and social impact of big projects like the one in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Each political or economic breakthrough has social and human costs and impacts the cultural image of the territories outside the big urban centers. Our film offers special access to a few Acadian families whose male providers spend more time earning a living in job sites like Fort McMurray than with their families. The film ex-plores exile, life choices, environment, our consumer society but above all, absence, which might be the biggest price to pay when one is forced to work far away from home.
