Sand Pebbles

Synopsis:

Sand Pebbles tells the story of a retiring primary school teacher (played by Paw Hee Ching) and her three teenage granddaughters as they cope with the outbreak of the deadly SARS virus in Hong Kong in 2003. They come from different cultural backgrounds and speak different dialects, which is typical of the people living in Hong Kong. There are political overtones in the film as SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Sydrome) coincides with the short form of the Hong Kong Government SAR (Special Administrative Region).

This is a warm and challenging film which touches the heart of every audience.
