'my Mont d'or' 85min.15sec.
A production of 'Opéra brut'
A film by Nina Goedé
The director, Nina Goedé is the central figure of the film, which is
presented as a visual and sound poem, in the form of auto-fiction.
In a breathless and stubborn movement, it takes us in the footsteps of
her past in various places in Europe and the Mediterranean, including
the Mont d'Or, who in her personal mythology, is a haven of peace and
creativity.
Everywhere around her, as a kind of jolly old elf, she brings back
distant voices, tenderness and beauty of the moments shared with a
tree, with the sea, with strangers and familliers.
But increasingly, as it goes back in time and through appearances, its
tranquility is threatened by the presence of a deaf war there, in
Palestine, perhaps in the midst of bombs, and ghostly immigrant
populations.
Is it still possible to recreate somewhere a paradise island on earth?
Or must we admit that the disaster may one day engulf our globalized
world?
The answer is to decipher somewhere in the puzzle of these hundred
women's faces - always the same and always another, tired dreaming
figure in her studio in New York, androgynous filly leaping in the streets
of Lyon, archaic Medea two thousand years, waiting to be liberated, or,
who knows, veiled woman in search of true sensual life and freedom.
