Lucie, a normal village girl who is longing for freedom and excitement one day rides out. It begins as a revenge but soon evolves into an adventure she secretly enjoys. She wants to get away from the little village, the lousy pub she works at and her stubborn boyfriend, but things gradually go beyond her anticipation. Maybe there is no absolute freedom and she cannot possibly run away; maybe the real freedom comes at the cost of 'losing it all'.

Lucie is a realistic coming-of-age drama about a teenage girl's dilemma of freedom pursuit. Teenage years are messy. Especially for girls. They put themselves in risky situations because there is such a strong desire to be free and desirable. I hope to create something that feels truthful. Most actors in the film had no acting experience. I also chose to shoot with portable camera with hand-held style and mostly natural lighting to accommodate the spontaneity of my actors, to make the film honest, emotionally complicated and alive.
