Identity- what is that? Arthur Hodges Jr. has wrestled with this question all his life, and has been taken captive by two lies: that the Deaf are nothing more than patients to be cured, and that the emptiness in his soul is the result of his own deafness. Seeking to cure his inner brokenness, he transforms himself into Dominik Bell, a wealthy, powerful alter-ego who has successfully engineered the "cure for deafness," including his own.
