Synopsis - Death of a Dream is a short film about three friends who set out on an adventure of a lifetime aboard a small sailing vessel only to see their dream voyage take a tragic turn of events. Dan and Summer, played by Matthew Thomas and Lexi Nicole Schoessow respectively, awaken from a tension-filled evening, fueled by alcohol and fraught with jealousy and desire, to discover Dan’s girlfriend Amber, played by Georgia Snow Nichols, is missing. Struggling to remember the details of the night before, they quickly become aware that their actions may have led directly to their present situation, and as the day progresses their mistakes come back to them with alarming clarity and remorse. Though many things have been left unsaid during this voyage the time for them to speak up is now. A decision must be made -will they call the coastguard for help? The stress intensifies as they struggle with what to tell the authorities and the realization that they must face the consequences of their actions. When their missing dinghy suddenly reappears in the darkness, they recognize that they may have run out of time and choices. Not only are they witnessing the death of their dream but also a nightmare getting ready to unfold.
