Cuban In The Heart - Lilly & Tim

Synopsis:

"Cuban In The Heart: Lilly & Tim" is a 30min documentary film about a couple who's lives changed dramatically after discovering Cuban dance.

Lilly and Tim Harrington first visited Cuba just after Lilly survived second stage breast cancer. Her husband Tim wanted to take her away on a special holiday, they were both in their 50s and 60s at the time. In Cuba, they fell in love with the people, the culture and of course the music and dance. On returning to Australia they decided to learn to dance Cuban style but found this challenging until they met El Moro, a traditional Cuban dancer who became their teacher and friend.

For over 10 years now Lilly and Tim’s lives revolve around frequent trips to Cuba and dancing in Australia and around the world with other Cuban teachers including Yarima Gavilan, Fraudy Estrada Martin and Eric and Chantal Turro Martinez.

Lilly and Tim credit Cuban dance for giving them a new lease of life and the belief that with the right attitude and determination, anything is possible. This is particularly true for Lilly who is a proud cancer survivor.
