In the bunker-like underground department at a Danish University Hospital, giant machines packed to the brim with linear acceleration, x-ray and magnetic resonance technology are humming.
Their purpose is to delay the perishing of the warm-blooded mortals that are fixated in the embrace of the apparatus.
By taking the perspective of the machines, Cross Section dissolves the dichotomy between machine and man. Experiencing tomography and radiography in the intersection of art and science, the viewer is brought close to the inner spirits of technology.
By showing hospital culture from a different perspective, Cross Section gives a sensory experience of tomographic data and communicates the poetry of contemporary welfare technology.
