Director’s Statement

I consider this an intellectual art project. I wanted to make a film that would feature the most informed, intelligent people I could find talking about the what I consider the most difficult and important issue of our time. I wanted to prove that a feature length documentary could be almost entirely talking heads and yet be fascinating, gripping, horrifying, even revolutionary. I strived to create something like "My Dinner with Andre" in a climate change documentary. The final form of the film is very classical in many ways, but also challenges assumptions by emphasizing the power of ideas over the authoritarianism of authorship. The film is certainly demanding, but I hope audiences will find it equally rewarding.
