Logline: A dexterous Dreamer has 48 hours to find his sick mother, save a "MeToo" daughter, and escape his ICE- hunter—his biological father.
Synopsis: ZAIN works as a shoe polisher and buys tickets from a Mexican coyote MUERTO for an underground passage to Canada for him and his sick Mexican mother ROSA. During Zain's date with NELL, FALK (police) and HARDEN (ICE) raid the hideout for immigrants and arrest Rosa. Zain's attempt to save his mother impresses Harden, who offers Zain a deal "Rosa for the Mexican coyote." Harden wants Muerto because Muerto's trafficking enterprise killed his father while Nell wants to escape Falk, who sexually abuses her. Harden brings Rosa to Falk's hideout while Falk sets up a trap for Zain and arrests him. Rosa hides her face from Harden and becomes a second mother for Nell. Zain outsmarts Falk, accepts Harden's deal, and escapes, working overtime to get the money for an extra ticket for Nell. Falk fools Zain into thinking Harden will break his promise and deport Zain's mother when Muerto catches Zain and offers him a deal that Zain cannot refuse. Zain, pressed from Muerto and Falk, delivers Harden to a bridge, unaware that Harden is his biological father. At the decisive moment, Zain listens to his mother and father, which leaves Falk and Muerto dead, and Zain united with his family and a new girlfriend, Nell.
