“Children of the World”
A vow to her tragically deceased father turns a rebellious daughter into a nation’s hero, and her power-greedy friend into every parent’s worst nightmare.
ZOEY, TOM, and JAMAL are three friends at the age of 10. When Zoey’s father dies, something in Zoey dies too. With Tom’s and Jamal’s help, she starts a website in the memory of her father. Jamal sends their email through the wrong account, and Tom receives a tsunami of answers, launches the “Children of the World” network (COTW), and presents it to his friends.
Zoey finds out their emails have spread all over the world, and Tom’s COTW starts its “stage one,” in which their members stop to speak with the adults. Zoey does not like this idea, however, decides to play along. The NSA and its director EATON get interested in the COTW when Tom starts his “stage two,” in which the COTW’s members stop going to school. That triggers all alarms by Zoey. Tom persuades Zoey to continue with their plan while the adults protest in favor of their children. Zoey finds out about Tom’s H2H foundation to help other children, which rebuilds Zoey’s trust in him while H2H spreads all over the world. She gets another hit when she loses a good friend and Tom starts his “stage three,” in which selected members of COTW start with a hunger strike, which Zoey joins.
Tom’s idea backfires as children all over the world start with a hunger strike. As the situation escalates, Eaton, who just so happens to be Zoey’s uncle, picks up Zoey and, together with her, finds a solution that ends the hunger strike and helps Zoey to fulfill her vow to her father.
