'ART BACKSTAGE. Passion and Insight' is an educational documentary about 7 centuries of Italian Art from Medioevale to Modern Art presented in a great exhibition in Bologna in 2015 'Da Cimabue a Morandi. Felsina Pittrice'. Among the many artists there are Cimabue, Giotto, Raffaello, Guido Reni, i Carracci, il Guercino, il Parmigianino, Francesco Hayez, Giorgio Morandi. The peculiarity of this film is that it goes behind the scenes of the exhibition, following all the phases of the works with a special mentor: Vittorio Sgarbi, the Curator and Historian and Art Critic, who is very popular on Italian tv. The shooting is a 'work in progress' during 6 days on the backstage of the set up. The documentary shows how the Curator with his assistants elaborates the development of the several phases of this exhibit until the pre-view opening, in the beautiful spaces of Palazzo Fava Museum. The Curator is also one of the most important Italian Art collector and some of the masterpieces on the exhibit belong to his huge art collection. Some additional animations explain and reveal the secret stories and the mistery behind famous paintings, like a Raffaello's masterpiece. The film shows also all the technical aspects required to set up a very important classical art exhibition.
