'Beyond the outcome' is my first work. After participating to different film-making as director assistant in Rome, when I was 22 I told myself I could realize and self-produce a feature movie, without necessarily wait for a producer interested to my work. I’ve always appreciated those film-maker who, needing to tell something, realized their movies with little means.To realize this movie I needed to go back to where I came from, which I found desperately identical to itself, as it is for definition: the province, the small town.The idea of the movie is to paint a fresco of this immobility, which defines in a grotesque way many young people living in these towns.Once I chose the set, I chose the characters, obviously among my friends, including myself. The choice comes from the desire to tell as faithfully as possible what was around me.The outcome is a movie without a narrative structure but which turns around itself, like its characters. It’s a raw, unstructured film, an “outsider” which is not involved in the big narrations, like the province. At the same time, the paucity of the financial resources made it a movie of the cultural, economical, existential crisis, which describes not only the small towns, but the whole Italian country.The decision of certain sequences, which climb over the “set-up” wall, to visibly show this paucity, is the ultimate act of frankness chosen by the author and also the cornerstone of the movie.
