AERTS

Synopsis:

The film starts off with an intense workout in an old and almost abandoned training cabin. The now retired kickboxer, Peter Aerts, still trains with unsurpassed commitment and passion. He simply can not let go of his past. His yearning to re-enter the ring is inescapable and with the everlasting support of his family, he always believes in the impossible.

Early in the morning, Peter begins his roadwork session. At the crossroads, he faces the undeniable truth. Through many years of competitive fighting on the highest level and earning three World Grand Prix championship titles, his body shows the signs of damage. He finally realizes that proceeding this lifestyle means risking even more severe injuries.

Peter, who never refuses a challenge, acknowledges the situation. This opens his eyes to new possibilities. Instead of pursuing his own dreams, he wants to relive his past glories through another fighter’s eyes. That fighter is Murat Aygun. He is Peter’s strongest pupil and shares the same heart and will to win. Even though Peter’s body isn’t what it used to be, his knowledge of this sport makes it possible to set new goals and inspire the new generation of kickboxers.
