Synopsis:
After an infection turns half the country into blood-thirsty monsters, General MACKENZIE orders Doctor SEN and her team, to find a way to destroy the infected and enable the army to free millions of uninfected civilians in the quarantine.
Army Captain KEVIN and his team bring the first infected from the quarantine, which Dr. Sen uses for test purposes. Dr. Sen comes closer to a solution when, in a single night, all of the infected in the quarantine die. Mackenzie communicates with YETTER, a gun for hire, who works for THE UNKNOWN, who started the infection. Dr. Sen discovers that a part of the virus belongs to her plant that was supposed to save the world from starvation when a small percentage of the infected comes back to life exactly 48 hours after they were infected. She continues her work, unaware that the army plans an all-out war against the infected areas.
The army control center is hacked by The Pentagon, and Mackenzie faces his former commander, now one of The 48, whose message is simple: “If you attack, we will defend ourselves.” Dr. Sen and Kevin enjoy the deceitful peace while in the basement of the research center, a half-crazy scientist, who now works for The Unknown, starts to train first of The 48 for their missions.
