Machine Cancer

Synopsis:

A salt flat, a virgin and distant wilderness. Almost secret in the salt desert , the life begins to show shy and minuscule. Once a year, trucks, bulldozers and other metallic beasts invade the landscape creating a fantastic dance between the nature and the machine, during the crop of salt. The few permanent inhabitants of the area live a life sealed by loneliness and isolation : a solitary hunter, a man who loves his tractor, a family coming from far away , other one of peasants, a couple of professionals. The natural environment is a constant that merges with the inhabitants of the salt flat, until the big machines return to invade the place.

Director’s Statement

Generally documentary observation is interpreted as a matter of style and posture of nonintervention in reality; and not as part of the synthesis of a process of research and development of speech. In the process of research they converged macro and micro ; and
The idea of the movie is to take the spectator from the landscape thing up to an imperceptible dip in a world near to the microscopic thing that is fascinating.
