Logline: A boy abused at home and by his community befriends a stranded girl, unaware she is an active alien weapon—a star destroyer.
Synopsis: CODY lives with his overworked mother, JANE, and her friend GARTH who uses Cody as his training punch bag. On an electronic junkyard, Cody meets WINTA, unaware she is not from planet Earth. Jane's health worsens, and Cody notices this, decides to gather the money Jane needs for her operation while he outside his home evades a former school bully, HYDE, who beats Cody at every chance he gets.
Winta helps Cody to get the money for Jane's operation, and Cody meets a completely changed computer shop owner, who assigns Cody to find a stolen artwork that looks more like a spaceship. In the park, Cody regularly meets NEAL, an army vet who becomes a replacement dad for Cody. Winta's casino win, which Cody needs for Jane's operation, is tied to an unknown SSN, Garth finds out about it and slams on Cody, determined to get this money. Winta reveals Cody her real purpose, "She puts the stars to sleep," she is an active star destroyer, stranded on planet Earth.
Jane's state worsens, and Cody rushes to get Winta to heal Jane as she healed him, but Winta and Cody arrive too late and find Jane dead. Cody runs into Garth, who is after Cody's money and escapes him through Neal's intervention. Feeling abandoned by all, Cody brings Winta, close to the end of her countdown, to the junkyard. In the final confrontation, Garth ends up in Winta's place, Cody unites with his father Neal, and Winta joins them, now as a real human.
