In & Above Her Heart

Synopsis:

THE FILM IS A METAPHOR ON THE BACK DROP OF BREAST CANCER WITH THE TALES OF TWO SURVIVORS (VASUNDHARA AND UJWALA). THEY BELONG FROM PUNE AND MUMBAI, RESPECTIVELY. THE SURVIVORS NARRATE THEIR JOURNEY AGAINST BREAST CANCER AND THEIR JOURNEY THEIR ODDS AROUND IT. THIS FILM ALSO TROWS LIGHT UPON MAJOR PERSONAL ASPECTS OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED WOMEN. THEIR STORIES ARE ALSO AUTHENTICATED BY VARIOUS ONCOLOGISTS AND A PSYCHOLOGIST. THESE WOMEN AND THEIR SPOUSES DISCUSS SEXUALITY AND BREAST CANCER OPENLY IN A COUNTRY LIKE INDIA WHERE THESE SUBJECTS CARRY A HUGE STIGMA BEHIND THEM. ULTIMATELY, IT GIVES A STRONG PORTRAYAL OF HOPE, INSPIRATION AND COURAGE AMONG THE TWO SURVIVORS AND THE WOMEN OF ALL AGES, CLASS, CASTE AND TYPE INDIA. IN A NUTSHELL, THE FILM OPENS UP WITH A NARROW PERSPECTIVE AND ENDS WITH A VERY BROADER PICTURE.
