Acting CEO Mary Madison is feeling the pressure then being the top-dog of Venus Visage Cosmetics. She is the only remaining heir to the company; and groomed by the out-going CEO James Dawson. Dr Peter Rodriguez and Elena Rodriguez are her closest friends, her rock. Unfortunately for Mary, her world is about to be turned upside down.
James is stepping down, on account of his illness. The thought of losing another parent, with the pressures of the corporate world, is starting to weigh heavily on her mind. She is also increasingly becoming paranoid that people are following her.
Will Mary finally crack? Mary was clever enough to hide her “fits” from people in the office, but someone is noticing her erratic behavior.
The challenge for Mary is to quickly pull herself together to lead a rapidly growing company, keep her personal demons at bay and keep her job.
As a first time director and producer, I chose to create this short film for the following reasons:
* Highlight mental illness in the workforce, not just in the Philippines, but also in places like New York City where I lived for 8 years, before settling in Manila. I have very dear friends who suffer this condition.
* To be able to donate this film to mental health clinics as an awareness, visual-aid to patients and care-givers.
*To show the numerous affluent locations of the Philippines, similar to 1st world cities like New York City or Sydney – especially to film makers around the world.
