Synopsis: 

Sámi reindeer herders in the Finnish Lapland, the municipality of Enontekiö, let the world know what threats their livelihood and way of life is facing. This is a voice rarely heard in the Finnish society.

Internationally known sámi actress Anni-Kristiina Juuso is the narrator. She was nominated the best actress in Russia for Cuckoo in 2002 and the best actress in Norway in 2008 for the Kautokeino Rebellion film.

Information for the Audience: 

The Reindeer belong to the Wind is a documentary film on the traditional lifestyle of a Sámi reindeer  herding cooperative in Finnish Lapland. Members of the cooperative are given a voice rarely heard in Finnish cultural and political life. They describe in their own words the threats their livelihood - reindeer herding - faces in modern world. In this film you can also hear female Sámi reindeer herders who are traditionally very few in number in Nordic countries. 

World known Sámi actress Anni-Kristiina Juuso takes the audience to her own community where still still lives.
