Interesting statistics (January 2016):

This year the quantity of films which passed the production stage has risen 8-10 times what it was last year.
What we have now is not 5,000 films per month like it was in 2014, but about 1,200 films a day!
Our festival’s platform is receiving about 100 new submissions daily.
In total, there are more than 350,000 filmmaking companies registered in the World.
There are currently about 5000 film festivals all over the world, and more than 120,000 distribution companies around the world.
The biggest and most prestigious festivals (Cannes and Sundance) are usually the hardest to break into because there is so much competition for a very limited number of slots.
In 2014, Sundance festival received nearly 6,000 submissions; it accepted only 255 of those films.
In just one month - September 2015, our film festival platform received 3217 submissions.
To get a film screened or get onto VOD becomes harder and harder each day.
