Welcome to the Oasis Short Film Series where we showcase the emerging talent of the next generation of filmmakers. Our goal is to create a destination that showcases the very best of the best short films that would otherwise fly under the radar because of a lack of star power, big budget, or industry-filmmaker connections.
Every month we screen between 10 and 15 short films online and we pick one to be the 'Short Film of the Month'. At the end of the year in December we screen all of the ' Short Films of the Month' and we crown one to be the 'Short Film of the Year'.
Our festival was created in 2016 with the goal of providing a showcase for the next generation of talented filmmakers. We want to bridge the gap between film festivals and internet video.
People are busy in 2019 and while being accepted into a film festival helps a film's prestige, having a 2pm screening time on Wednesday afternoon means that the audience will likely be very small. We want to change that. We want to create a place that is known for only showcasing great work while at the same time having it on demand for viewers to watch 24/7.
We also want to set ourselves apart from other festivals by giving our submitters feedback. Every film is scored within ten categories that have a rating between 1-10, feedback notes, plus overall notes. This way our filmmakers are able to see how their work stacks up compared to others, how they can improve, and what they are doing right.
Every accepted film receives laurels plus every month we pick a best overall film and that filmmaker is interviewed on our site which is great for the film and filmmaker's publicity.
Please Note that the last screening series for the festival will be November 2019. Any accepted projects must submit public video links by November 5, 2019 in order to be featured on our website.
